常喜椀とともに迎える、新春の設え**

滋賀県長浜の常喜町で平安時代から作られてきた「常喜椀」。
一度は途絶えながらも、渡辺久七商店によって受け継がれ、現代に息を吹き返した漆椀です。

このたび、下記日程にて展示販売会を開催いたします。

🪵 展示内容

今回の展示では、手にすっと馴染む「常喜椀」をはじめ、
新年を彩る漆塗りの鏡餅、祝い膳やお節が映えるお重など、
長浜の漆文化を受け継いだ作品をご覧いただけます。

どの作品も、一点一点職人が手仕事で仕上げたもの。
新しい年を迎える設えとして、ぜひお選びください。

漆の器は、やさしい手ざわりとやわらかな口あたりが魅力です。
その魅力が、器を使う人の心をやさしく、そして心を豊かにしてくれます。
常喜椀は食卓に喜びをもたらします。
その喜びを一人でも多くの方にお届けしたいと思っています。

Welcoming the New Year with Urushi

A Life Enriched Through Joukiwan

The Joukiwan originates from Joki-chou in Nagahama, Shiga, where lacquerware was crafted as early as the Heian period.
Although production once ceased, this tradition has been revived and carried into the present by Watanabe Hisashichi Shouten.

We are pleased to host a special pop-up exhibition featuring bowls and seasonal pieces that bring the warmth of urushi to the New Year’s table.

Final day closes at 4:00 PM.

🪵 What Will Be Shown

Alongside individually handcrafted Joukiwan, the exhibition will feature:

• Urushi kagami-mochi ornaments

• Lacquered jubako boxes ideal for osechi and celebratory dishes

• Various pieces created to complement traditional New Year settings

Each piece is crafted with care, honoring the lacquer culture that has taken root in Nagahama.
We invite you to choose a meaningful piece to welcome the year ahead.

Urushi vessels offer a gentle touch and a soft feeling on the lips.
Their warmth enriches the hearts of those who use them.
The Joki Bowl brings a quiet joy to the dining table.
I hope to share that joy with as many people as possible.

The artisan will be present to speak directly about the making process, materials, and the culture of lacquerware.
